I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
